I'm proud to announce that Fuel-UP! Widget is now available at Ovi Store. This widget idea is from a consumer and was developed during Nokia Developer Summit 2009, in Monte Carlo, Monaco

Fuel-UP! widget helps you to find the nearest gas station based on your current location and orders them according to price. It ’s a community based service! You are invited to share in real-time world wide gas prices! You can create new markers and update the old one with the correct price of the fuel. Fuel-UP! lets you manually search for Gas price or use the built-in or external GPS module to dynamically search for gas stations near you.

[ReMobile] Mobilidade, Soluções Nokia e Convergência tudo num único dia

Antes de qualquer palavra, muito obrigado a todos os participantes do ReMobile! Contamos com aproximadamente trinta e cinco participantes, em um evento que inicialmente seria para no máximo sete pessoas. Foi muito bom compartilhar idéias, estreitar laços de contato com operadoras (Claro) e conheçer um pouco mais sobre o background acadêmico de todos os presentes.
Estou com bastante esperança no sucesso dos próximos eventos, onde espero alcançar um número ainda maior de participantes. Também gostaria de agradecer ao Instituto Nokia de Tecnologia por ceder algumas camisas do Bossa Conference para sorteio!

Skyfire browser for Mobile supports Flash 9 Content

I just found a new mobile browser called SkyFire. It supports embedded content such as Flash 9, QuickTime, Java and more. It claims that its software offers desktop browsing speeds on a handheld, with no restrictions over media content display and accessibility.
The Skyfire private beta will initially support Windows Mobile phones in the U.S. In the coming months, they will introduce a version for Symbian phones. Other phone platforms and geographies are on the roadmap too.

Gmail: O melhor caminho para encontrar emprego?

Primeiro, gostaria de enfatizar que estou bastante satisfeito com o ambiente de trabalho e o que venho desenvolvendo dentro da i2 tecnologia.

A pouco eu estava a ler aos meus emails, e o mais interessante foi perceber algumas propostas de emprego (inoportunas?), que aparecem constantemente na minha caixa de entrada do Gmail. Inoportunas ou não, será que nossa privacidade pode ser reduzida ao uso gratuito de um serviço? Segundo o próprio Google, essas mensagens são geradas de acordo com as mensagens e o perfil do usuário, mas em momento algum estive a procurar novas oportunidades de emprego... Com isso vale a pena refletir.. Quando é que vale sua privacidade?

IPhone Flaw Lets Hackers Take Over, Security Firm Says

From The New York Times:

The researchers, working for Independent Security Evaluators, a company that tests its clients’ computer security by hacking it, said that they could take control of iPhones through a WiFi connection or by tricking users into going to a Web site that contains malicious code. The hack, the first reported, allowed them to tap the wealth of personal information the phones contain.

The iPhone is becoming a victim of its own success. The irony is that the more popular something is, the more insecure it becomes, because popularity paints a large target on its back.

Will this be a way to put Flash Lite and/or Java ME in the next generation of iPhones?
